A seminar titled “Entropy”, presented by Dr. İhsan TUĞAL from the Department of Software Engineering, was held on April 30, 2025 at 15:00 with the participation of our faculty members and students.
In the seminar; basic topics such as the history, definition and evolution of the concept of entropy, as well as advanced topics such as information transfer, decision trees, clustering, comparison of feature distributions, anomaly detection, natural language processing, evolutionary approaches, time series analysis, model uncertainty and entropy types were discussed. The participants had the opportunity to gain comprehensive information about the theoretical foundations of entropy and its role in various engineering and software applications.
Dr. İhsan TUĞAL shared examples from academic studies he has conducted using the concept of entropy in the continuation of his presentation. In the q&a session held after the presentation, the questions of the participants were answered and the seminar was successfully completed.
